Raisin Strietzel


4 cups warm milk

7 eggs, beaten

½ (?) butter

1 ¼ cup cup sugar

1 ½ Tbsp salt


Heat mixture to 120 degrees F


Beat in:

2 cups flour

2 ½ Tbsp quick rise yeast


Continue to add flour until fairly thick, then combine with


1 lbs raisins


In a large bowl. Knead into a nice, soft dough. Oil dough lightly and let rise 1-2 hours.


Form into loaves, flatten, then top with this icing:

1 egg,

2 Tbsp icing sugar

¼ cup whipping cream


Mix well, and put 2 Tbsp on each loaf and sprinkle with 3-4 Tbsp sugar and cinnamon mixture.


Let rise again 1 hour, then bake at 350 F for 45 mins. Do not use convection.


Makes 4 loaves.
