Schwarties Potato Casserole

1 kg frozen hashbrowns

  (2.5 kg no-name brand - diced potato hashbrowns - makes double batch)


1 - 250 gr sour cream

1 can mushroom soup

1/4 cup butter

1/2 onion, diced

1 1/2 cups grated cheese

salt & pepper


In sauce pan, saute onion in melted butter. Mix into remaining ingredients in a big bowl and add 1/2 of the cheese.


Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan.

Top with remaining cheese


350 degrees - 1 hour


Cover with foil for half of the baking time then remove
